Christians Unite

We as Christians are supposed to be the true United Nations.  To quote David Pawson, “We are not called to be credible to contemporary society, but rather, model a counted-culture of a truly healthy, holy and happy society in a world that has lost its bearings.”

A town built on a hill cannot be hidden. On one hand, we are supposed to be followers, but the key here is we are supposed to be the followers of Christ. Too many Christians cite a link to hostile, secular sources when they want to be taken seriously on some important topic, as if they have no-one from their own ranks to refer to. Even a broken clock is right twice a day but that does not mean that you should always point to one when you notice it has the same time as yours.

Believers Are Salt and Light

13Ye are the salt of the earth: but if the salt have lost his savour, wherewith shall it be salted? it is thenceforth good for nothing, but to be cast out, and to be trodden under foot of men. 14Ye are the light of the world. A city that is set on an hill cannot be hid. — Matthew 5:13-14 (KJV)

You are the salt of the earth, says who? Says Jesus. If the salt has lost its taste, meaning purpose, how can it be made salty? It is no longer good for anything, but to be thrown out and walked on by people when the walkways are wet and slippery. We need to understand the meaning and I’m quoting the Amplified Bible. Please see the footnotes: In ancient times salt was often used as a preservative. Similarly, followers of Christ are to preserve both the gospel message and Christian values in the secular world.

The salt from the Dead Sea contains impurities that affect its qualities as a seasoning and as a preservative. Are you reading what I am reading? When you have a problem with the Bible you don’t ask a question from a professor on secular or other religion studies to give you the answer. They would not ask you about their specialty.

Please don’t sign up to be a martyr. That is the last resort. Too many Christians role play living under pagan Caesars until that is reality. You were given a Christian nation and now you are giving it back? Take down the cross and then ask for a blessing? That is not going to work. These people were given a nice, secure castle that their ancestors built for them, but they opened the gates and threw away their weapons and now they complain about being put in the dungeon. I wonder how that happened.

37And when he was come nigh, even now at the descent of the mount of Olives, the whole multitude of the disciples began to rejoice and praise God with a loud voice for all the mighty works that they had seen; 38Saying, Blessed be the King that cometh in the name of the Lord: peace in heaven, and glory in the highest. 39And some of the Pharisees from among the multitude said unto him, Master, rebuke thy disciples. 40And he answered and said unto them, I tell you that, if these should hold their peace, the stones would immediately cry out. — Luke 19:37-40 (KJV)

Even the Stones Cry Out

If you are silent, someone else will shout. Sometimes it’s not praises that must be made known. Even secular people and people from other religions are starting to notice the tyranny the former free societies are put under. To quote Benjamin Franklin, “We must all hang together, or, most assuredly, we shall all hang separately.” Christians unite!

Christians should help each other. Buy from other Christians. Hire other Christians. If your car breaks down, please seek a Christian mechanic. Christian babysitter. I wish I shouldn’t have to say this, but also real Christian pastor. There are Christians who start a company and hire someone with a Ph.D.  to do their taxes or their PR or advertisement campaign without seeing if these people are hostile to their faith, and then they cry when the company goes broke. Only someone who cares about what they do is going to give it their one hundred percent. There are lonely Christians who have no work because there are other Christians looking at all the wrong places.

34A new commandment I give unto you, That ye love one another; as I have loved you, that ye also love one another. 35By this shall all men know that ye are my disciples, if ye have love one to another. — John 13:34-35 (KJV)

God bless you, Dear Reader.
